According to recent news from Wisconsin, unregulated vaping carries harmful risks. Eight teens have been hospitalized with unexplained pulmonary disease that doctors are tying to vape use. Additionally, a man has been hospitalized with critical damage to his lungs and heart after he smoked THC vape cartridges purchased off of the street. Unlike California and several other US states, Wisconsin has not yet legalized cannabis products, leading to the appearance of these potentially hazardous “black market vapes.” As these recent hospitalizations show, keeping cannabis products an illegal, unregulated industry can lead to a new set of dangers for consumers.
Yet the popularity of vaping holds steady, giving an increasing importance to the need for strict standards and third-party testing.
