These days, it seems like CBD is everywhere. And now, you can even find it at… Carl’s Jr?
Yep, you read that right. This upcoming April 20th, a Carl’s Jr in Denver, Colorado, is offering a “special” addition to their menu in the form of a CBD burger. Dubbed the Rocky Mountain High: CheeseBurger Delight, this burger pairs two beef patties, pickled jalapeños, and pepper jack cheese all topped with a CBD infused version of Carl’s Jr’s signature Santa Fe sauce. This cheeseburger costs $4.20 and is available for one day only (4/20, of course) or while supplies last.
To create this burger, Carl’s Jr. is partnering with Bluebird Botanicals, a Colorado-based CBD company that specializes in manufacturing CBD oils and CBD capsules. Although this burger has a limited release, it highlights a new trend appearing in the food industry. As consumers become more interested in using cannabis in different ways, restaurants are opening themselves up to the possibility of adding cannabis-based ingredients into their menus. Although Carl’s Jr is not suggesting that using CBD as an ingredient in their food will result in the same benefits as taking it in, say, a capsule or tincture form, they are exploring the possibility of including this burger as a permanent menu item.
You can find the Rocky Mountain High: CheeseBurger Delight this April 20th at the Carl’s Jr located at 4050 Colorado Blvd. in Denver, Colorado.
